WE LOVE: The Spirit One Spa at The Radisson Blu Galway

I, like any busy lady, dream of SPA days while sitting at my office typing away.

So I absolutely jumped at the chance to check out the top class SPA at Galway’s Radisson Hotel, and brought along my Entertainment Reporter Meghann Scully.

After a really hectic week I was ready to be completely relaxed, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things I could do there.

Here are the things I loved about the Spirit One SPA.

The Back Massage

I know, I know everyone loves a good body massage, but honestly this was the best massage I’ve ever had in my life.

Since I live quite a stressful life I always have knots in my back and due to a car accident a few years ago I have a trapped nerve – both problems can make for an uncomfortable experience sometimes, but this massage was just perfect.

Listening to the calming sound of relaxing music and falling asleep to the peaceful scents in the room, I was in heaven.

If you’re booking yourself a massage there make sure to check this one out.

The Beach Room

Myself and Meghann were both very intrigued about the Beach Room – and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

We walked in with our towels in hand and lay down on the soft sand as audio of the ocean was played in the background.

A lovely sunny light surrounds the room and when you look up all you see is light and palm trees – perfect if you are dreaming of a getaway right now.

The Saunas

Nothing is better for your skin then lying down in a roasting hot sauna.

There are so many different rooms in the Radisson SPA, which is probably what surprised me the most.

First we checked The Laconium – a dry, gentle heat with scented citrus oils and enhanced mood lighting. Then it was on to the Aroma Grotto – a moisturising steam cabin, ideal for conditioning the hair and skin.

Then it was time for my favourite which was the Rock Sauna – the hottest and driest of our thermal experiences at 85°c to 90°c, ideal for swift detoxification and invigoration.

Finally my other favourite was the The Hammam – based on the traditional Turkish steam bath the Hammam offers an intense steam heat experience with light and essential oil therapy.

The Rain Showers

In between all our very intense, hot sauna rooms we experienced the tropical showers inside the Spirt One Spa.

There were three different showers to choose from, so of course we tried out all of them.

Each shower has essential oils and water in the form of invigorating tropical rain and a light cool mist to refresh your mind and body between cabins.

Basically it’s the best shower you will ever have.

The Relaxation Area

The main aim of any good spa day is to completely relax.

After we both got our lovely back massages myself and Meghann chilled out in the relaxation room – probably for too long.

We were so calm and sleepy, we lay down and just took it all in.

We were very comfortable thanks to our Radisson dressing gowns and matching Raddison slippers, and we got to sip on lovely green tea as we relaxed just for a little bit longer.

With bowls of fruit and candles laid out around the room, it was so easy to fall asleep as the lights were dimmed.

The Outdoor Hot Tub

But of course we got up eventually because the last part of our spa day included sitting outside in the outdoor hot tub.

I’ve always loved being in hot water while outside in the cold, and that day was perfect.

Looking out over the tub and into the water was very peaceful and we chatted away as the bubbles filled up the tub.

Twenty minutes later it was time to go – and we genuinely felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated.

A half day at the Spa with the use of the Thermal Suite is just €35 and only €10 when you book a Spa treatment also.
