U2’s Adam Clayton has sued his former accountant for more than €10million.
According to reports, the bassist is allegedly challenging his former aid against losses on a string of risky property and other investments.
The musician insists he relied on Gaby Smyth between 2001 and 2010 for financial advice.

However, Gaby’s lawyer claimed the court action was over the “debacle” where Adam was defrauded by his former PA Carol Hawkins, who was later convicted of 181 counts of theft.
In a pre-trial application, the accountant reportedly wants the High Court to throw out a decision from February 2014 which allowed the continuing prosecution by the star of a 2013 case.
According to the Mirror, the Dubliner has claimed his former accountant has a liability for €6.69 million in losses for investments in Romania, Belgium and a pharmaceutical company.

However, Gaby denies negligence or acting as the music star’s financial and investment adviser as alleged.
The case has been ajourned until November for the application to change that decision.
