U2 give Eagles of Death Metal their stage in Paris – weeks after terror attack

U2 have given rock band Eagles of Death Metal their world stage – just weeks after the Paris terror attacks.

The Irish band were playing their second gig in the French capital tonight when they told the crowd that it was time for Eagles of Death Metal to return – as they had been “robbed” of their last performance.

Thousands of fans screamed in support for the rock band as they performed on stage – nearly a month after the horrendous terrorist attacks at their own concert in Paris.

Sharing the stage with the Irish rockers for an emotional encore, the Californian band told the crowd: “Paris, we love you and we will never give up rock and roll”.

The two music acts performed the Patti Smith hit People Have the Power before U2 left the stage, giving the US musicians the AccorHotels Arena.

Bono referred to the US band as brothers as he walked off stage to let them perform their hit I Love You All the Time, just weeks after the atrocities.

“They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago – we would like to offer them ours tonight,” Bono said.

The emotional reunion comes after U2 had paid tribute to the 130 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in November.

Fans were touched by the gesture from the Irish rockers and took to Twitter in their droves:
