TV presenter James Corden has revealed he has formed an unlikely friendship with U2’s Bono and Colin Farrell.
The former Gavin and Stacey actor, who has seen his fame catapult with the popularity of his programme Late Late Show, admitted he enjoyed a dinner with the Irish A-listers in LA.
“We went to dinner with Bono and his wife [Ali Hewson] and Sean Penn and Charlize Theron and Colin Farrell,” he said.

“I remember thinking ‘OK well this didn’t used to happen’.”
Speaking to ITV’s show Lorraine, the British star revealed Oscar winning Sean Penn picked up the tab.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old is to be honoured with the Oscar Wilde’s recognition of contribution to film and television after he performed as part of Riverdance in a segment on his show.
The CBS star has been a champion for Irish music and film having invited Kodaline, Gavin James and Saoirse Ronan on his programme.
