The 12 Pubs of Gossmas Guide

Christmas season is in full swing, and we’re thirsty for a few pints (well glasses of Prosecco to be honest).

So the Goss team have come up with the ultimate pub crawl!

Nominate a team leader at the very start, who will need to have a whistle and they’ll be making sure you only spend 30 minutes.

PS upload your Gossmas Pub Crawl photos and tag us on Instagram and Twitter, using the hashtag #Gossmas. Best photo wins an awesome prize!

Go, go, go!

Pub 1: Dakota

dakota1

Located on South William Street, it’s the perfect place to start out your Christmas Pub Crawl.

This place is always on our radar, with stars like Pierce Brosnan and Scrubs actor John C McGinley spotted in there before enjoying a pint.

Get your crew in there and drink whatever you like (we recommend anything from the cocktail menu).

Rule 1: You can’t drink your own drink

For the first pub you’ll have to partner up with one of the crew, and give drink to each other.

Whatever you want to drink get your partner to order it and they’ll literally have to pour it down your throat.

Break the rule and you have to do shot penalty folks!

Pub 2: Pygmalion

pyg2

We’re making this easy for you, so just a few steps away you’ll find Pygmalion aka Pyg.

Walk along the pink carpet and head on inside for some killer cocktails and all types of beer.

Often frequented by musicians and actors, it’s always been a hub of creativity.

Rule 2: Take off a shoe

Firstly this rule rhymes, so that’s important.

Secondly you better have good balance (for those of you in heels) because you’re taking off one shoe while you’re here.

You’ll all look a bit mad but sure isn’t that the point?

Pub 3: South William

south william

Making sure you don’t have to walk too far in that wintery weather, the South William is another few steps away.

Perfect for the hipsters out there, this place is chilled and casual, so you’ll easily get away with wearing a mad Christmas jumper in this place.

Rule 3: No Talking

It happens on every single 12 Pubs of Christmas, so the Gossmas list is no different folks!

Say a single word to the barman, your friends or a complete stranger and this time the penalty is you will have to by your ENTIRE group around of drinks.

Pub 4: Harry’s On The Green

harrys

Another close venue and perfect for partying is Harry’s On The Green.

At this point you should be feeling well on it so we suggest grabbing a bite to eat here.

Take a few minutes out to grab some nibbles before you head off again.

Rule 4: No Swearing

It might sound easy now, but after being silenced for a half an hour there’s going to be a lot of f***s, sh**s and p****s going around.

This time the penalty is back to shots!

Pub 5: Dandelion

dandelion

We’ve purely picked this place because again it’s close, and you don’t want to be going too far now do you?

Dandelion is perfect for big groups and having a little dance.

Rule 5: You have to hold your drink in your left hand

Again might sound easy now while you’re reading this sober, but good luck to you on the night.

If you slip up and hold your drink with your right hand you need to by your partner from earlier a drink (soz).

Pub 6: Bruxelles

brux

Ok we’re moving towards Grafton Street now and Bruxelles is a gem.

Firstly, if you’ve made it this far well done, we’re sure a few people have left by this stage.

With a Phil Lynott statue outside you’ve already got a touch of Rock N’ Roll in this place, but this is the venue you need to only drink water in (we’re looking out for you really).

Rule 6: Stand on one leg while drinking

After the amount of pints you’ve had at this stage this is not going to be easy.

Balance on one leg the entire time you have you drink (of water) , if you forget then you can’t talk for the rest of your time here.

Pub 7: 37 Dawson Street

37

Only four more pubs to go and we’re stopping off at 37 Dawson Street.

Another great celeb hotspot and with swanky interiors you’ll love a bit of class on your night out.

The likes of Rory McIlroy and Niall Horan are spotted here, so keep an eye out.

Rule 7: No Phones Allowed

Seriously no selfies, no drunken texting, no booty calls – it’s all off limits.

Take your phone out and the penalty is you have to let someone frape you (on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter).

Pub 8: Sams Bar

sam bar

You’re so close to the end now, you can do this!

Sticking to Dawson Street (literally next door to 37) Sams Bar is the perfect place to keep you going.

Another swanky venue so try not to be too messy lads.

Rule 8: Speak With An Accent

You have to pick a an accent for this place – American, French, Spanish, Australian, whatever – but most importantly you HAVE to stick to it.

If you don’t your penalty is back to taking a shot.

Pub 9: O’Donoghues

od

Ok we’ve given you a bit of a walk now, but that’s just because you need the fresh air, we’re sobering you up really (you’re welcome).

We love O’Donoghues, it’s super traditional and remember Rihanna once had a massive lock in there with her crew from her tour (true story).

Rule 9: No Toilet Breaks Allowed

We’re serious, and this is going to be hard, especially at this time of the night.

Go to the bathroom and the penalty is you have to sit on your own for the remainder of the stay.

Pub 10: Doheny & Nesbitt

Doheny & Nesbitt pub

So close lads, so close.

Another great traditional pub is Doheny & Nesbitt’s.

All our last pubs are literally right beside each other so there’s no excuses here.

Rule 10: Selfie With A Stranger

It sounds easy now, but just try and go up to someone in the state your own and ask for a photo (obviously upload it with the hashtag #Gossmas).

If you don’t get a photo penalty is uploading a seriously unflattering, ugly photo online.

Pub 11: Toners

Toner's Pub Dublin

You are one pub away from dancing your ass off to freedom and feeling so accomplished.

Toners is so well known and always full of great people having the craic.

Rule 11: Singing Everything You Want To Say

You should be feeling so merry you want to sing anyway, so this should be an easy challenge.

Everything you want to say you have to sing it – if you forget to sing the penalty is buying a full round of drinks.

Pub 12: Xico

xico

Tadaaa, massive congrats for getting this far, and if you still have your phone, wallet and your dignity then we bow down to you.

Xico has become the coolest place in town, with dancing on the tables and killer music this is the perfect place to end your pub crawl.

Rule 12: NO RULES – you’ve been so good, enjoy yourself, get the shift, have a safe trip home!

*Seriously though everyone, always drink responsibly, we know you won’t make all 12, so be safe!
