Ronan Keating has opened up on how much he regrets his highly publicised affair in 2010, when he was still married to ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.
The Boyzone star was married to Yvonne for 14 years when details of his affair with back-up dancer Francine Cornell were revealed, causing the couple to split for good in 2011.
Now happily married to Australian TV producer Storm Keating, the singer has come out insisting that “nobody should have an affair” – apologising for his unfaithful past.
“Nobody should have an affair… If you’re man enough to have the balls to go home and say, ‘Sorry, this isn’t working any more’, that’s the ideal situation, isn’t it? But we’re weak. We don’t do that,” he said.

“So yes, I hurt people and I am sorry for that hurt, but the outcome is I found Storm and I’m very grateful. But I’m saying I’m sorry.”
After marrying Storm in a fairytale ceremony, Ronan admitted to the Telegraph that Storm makes him feel “secure” as he has “always been quite an insecure person”.
“Storm makes me feel secure. It’s very refreshing. I haven’t had that before. I’ve always had to work to feel reassured, to feel secure, and that’s not nice because you don’t know where you stand,” he explained.

“I put up a front to make people think I had all of this confidence in myself, which I didn’t.”
Ronan is father to three children from his previous marriage, Jack, Missy and Ali and says that his children “love” Storm and that they were more than happy when Ronan asked to marry her.
“They love her. I spoke to the kids about getting married and they were incredible: ‘Yes dad, whatever makes you happy’,” he added.
“I asked Storm to marry me and then got the four of us together and we said, ‘Storm will you marry us?'”
