Former X Factor star Melanie McCabe proves she is well on track to becoming a superstar – as she took to the stage at Vicar Street last night.

The Dublin singer – who entered the ITV show four times – was a surprise support role for American rock band Dr. Hook.

She performed three songs with the legendary 70s musicians, who feature 77-year-old rocker Ray Sawyer.

It comes after Melanie briefly appeared as an extra in Love/Hate on Sunday – and has continued to work on her music career.

Recently she took on the charts as she released her first single, and is looking to move across to America soon.

Melanie is hoping that it will allow her to flourish without being linked constantly to the X Factor.
