PICS: Well-known faces step out for the opening night of Annie the Musical

The production plays at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until July 20th

Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre was buzzing on Wednesday evening, for the opening night of the smash-hit family favourite, Annie the Musical.

A host of well-known faces were spotted – including Baz Ashmawy, his partner Tanja Evans and their children Hanna and Mahy; Kerri Nicole Blanc and her daughter Kayla; James Patrice and his mum Fron; as well as Jennifer Zamparelli, Julian Benson, Alison Canavan, and Brendan O’Connor.

Annie the Musical plays at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until Saturday July 20th, and the glorious production stars Jodie Prenger, winner of the BBC’s I’d Do Anything, as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

But her luck soon changes when she’s chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.

Meanwhile, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family…
