Pics: Stars come out to support Miriam Ahern at CARI lunch

Stars came out today to support Miriam Ahern – as the patron of child sex abuse charity CARI.

Glamorous celebrities in attendance included Georgina Ahern, Cecelia Ahern, Yvonne Keating, Orla de Bri and Jane Given.

Also in attendance at The Four Seasons were Norah Casey, Claire Ronan, Sean Musanje, Chris Doyle and Gary Kavanagh.

The afternoon began with a champagne reception kindly supported by M&S, followed by a delicious four-course gourmet lunch.

The charismatic Alan Hughes from TV3 was the MC for the afternoon.

Guests didn’t walk away empty handed as they received packed goody bags with treats from Cecelia Ahern’s new book Love Rosie and a Newbridge Silverware Christmas tree decoration.

A fun filled raffle concluded the afternoon and guests moved onto House Dublin to continue the celebrations.

CARI CEO Mary Flaherty said: “Our fundraising events are more important than ever in the current recession where every year state funding to charities is reducing.

“It is cut by more than fifteen per cent on three years ago and that represents a lot of lost therapeutic hours with families and employment in our organisation.”
