Shock: This is the first time One Direction have ever cancelled a gig at the last minute

This is the first time One Direction have ever been forced to cancel a show, especially at the last minute. The band previously filled in for one another if one of them fell ill.

“To be honest, we feel kind of lucky that we’ve got to this point and never cancelled one.

“So obviously, we’re all very disappointed and very, very much apologise to everyone who was there,” he said.

The band are due to return to the stage in Belfast on Wednesday night, and have added an extra date on Friday for all Tuesday night ticketholders to attend.

Meanwhile, Liam has finally broken his silence on Twitter – thanking fans for their support and understanding of the situation.
