Niall Horan and 1D bandmates splashed the cash in Dublin

Niall Horan and his One Direction bandmates spent a serious amount of cash in Dublin back in 2014.

It has been revealed by the Irish Daily Mail that the band ran up a hefty security bill during their three nights at Croke Park for their Where We Are stadium tour.

The security alone for the gigs cost a whopping €210,000, which is much more than the average for event of that scale.

In comparison, security at the 2015 All-Ireland Football final between Dublin and Kerry cost just €40,528, while The Script’s sell out Croke Park gig cost €63,000 in Garda fees for ‘non public’ duties.

The security for 1D’s massive stadium gigs was beefed up due to local residents complaining about the influx of hundreds of thousands of desperate fans causing a disruption in their area.

However, the Gardai couldn’t complain about the hysteria surrounding the stars, as it is reported that they received €4.64 million for ‘non public’ duties including policing 1D’s gigs, which marked a 4% rise from the previous year.

What can we say, it pays to be a superstar… and act as their security!
