Maria Walsh has denied rumours of romance with television producer Shauna Keogh.
The former Rose of Tralee and the producer raised eyebrows as they arrived on The Gossies red carpet together on Sunday night – however, the pair dashed speculation as they both admitted that they’re “just good friends”.
“I know people have been asking Shauna if she was my girlfriend, but I’m not in a relationship. We are just two people working on ideas together,” Maria revealed.

Speaking about how they are just friends and work colleagues, Shauna admitted that she understands why people would speculate about her and Maria’s relationship as they are both openly gay.
“We’ve had so many questions asking if Maria and I are together.
“We know people are interested and these questions aren’t going to go away. We knew this was going to come up and people are going to come to the wrong decision, but myself and Maria are just friends and work colleagues,” she told the Irish Sun.
“Myself and Maria are definitely going to be hanging out at more events together. We’re both gay and if the two of us turning up on a red carpet together makes it easier for same sex couples, that’s great.

Referring to Maria being the first ever openly gay Rose of Tralee, Shauna thinks she is an amazing role model for the LGBT community.
“I think Maria is an amazing, brilliant role model for young people in the LGBT community and she has allowed more young people to come out about their sexuality.”
Shauna has recently just returned from LA after working on a number of reality shows, and now she’s teaming up with Maria as they are reportedly discussing podcast themes and filming a segment for RTÉ’s Reality Bites.
