Majella O’Donnell has spoken of her relief at husband Daniel being voted off Strictly Come Dancing.
Exiting the BBC show on Sunday night, the Tipperary native admitted she’s happy Daniel’s taxing experience has come to an end.
“I felt relief absolutely. I knew he was finding it tough, the nerves were just killing him,” she said.

“I didn’t go over because I was too nervous so I was watching it on telly.
“But after he was voted off he phoned me. He said: ‘Majella you cannot believe how good it feels to know that I don’t need to do that again. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders’,” she added.
Despite his early departure, Majella admitted she is very proud of her singer husband and what he achieved on the reality show.
“He was really outside his comfort zone. He did it to the best of his ability and I admire him for pushing himself,” she told the Mirror.

“As always Daniel dealt with it all in a very dignified manner but I am delighted to have him back now.”
Although fans might not see him on Strictly every Saturday, the country crooner will be back on the small screen for his UTV Ireland series Daniel And Majella’s B&B Road Trip.
Kicking off this Monday at 8pm, viewers will see Majella and Daniel travel around the emerald isle and meet locals which Majella admitted was great fun.

“It’s so funny, we laughed the whole time at the stuff that was going on,” she revealed.
“I really think it’s going to be received well and I feel people are going to see a side of Daniel that they don’t normally get to see – what we are like together.
“Daniel is a quiet guy but he has a great sense of humour, he is willing to try anything. We were kayaking and paddleboarding even though Daniel is terrified of the water.”
