Louis Walsh has tipped Niall Horan for global solo success following the revelation that One Direction are taking a break.
The pop guru reckons the Mullingar native has what it takes to hit the big time on his own after it was revealed the group want to go their separate ways for a year.
“I think Niall will get a record deal and he will be very successful,” Louis said.

“I think he will surprise everybody,” he told The Star.
Sources close to the band have stressed that the lads are not splitting up – but merely taking a break after working hard consistently for the last five years.
1D are currently on a world tour which includes three shows in Dublin on October 16, 17 and 18.
It comes after former Westlife star Markus Feehily speculated that the group could have split up because they were being treated like a product.
