Louis Walsh brands former X Factor contestants as 'ungrateful f*****s'

Louis Walsh has branded some former X Factor contestant as “ungrateful f*****s” for not realising the hard work they have to put in after the show is over.

The former X Factor judge of 11 years, who is currently managing Irish boyband HomeTown, isn’t impressed with how a lot of contestants handled themselves after The X Factor.

Speaking on new documentary Celebrity Bites, which looks at life for contestants and judges after talent shows, Louis said, “They all believed they were going to be stars and they all thought this was the start of a long career.”

“As soon as the show’s over most of them are finished unless they get signed or unless somebody with a lot of clout believes in them.

“The biggest problem for me with the people in this show is they don’t realise it’s the music business. It’s a business and there’s too many part-timers in it who want to be famous.

“They want to be going to nightclubs and getting into VIP areas and if you are in it for that reason, forget it as it’s never going to work for you,” he revealed.

Louis certainly didn’t hold back on what he thought of previous contestants, branding Cher Lloyd as “a right t**t”.

Meanwhile, the topic of the success of the One Direction boys, including Mullingar man Niall Horan, Louis admits that it was Simon backing them that made them shoot to stardom.

“One Direction happened because of Simon Cowell. It’s very simple, he made it happen. He made them happen – they didn’t make it happen.”

On the subject of Niall, Louis mentions that the blonde-haired heartthrob was very lucky to have become part of the band, let alone get through the audition.

“I put him through – Katy Perry said no. Can you remind Niall of that sometime? If he is watching this back in Mullingar, it was me Niall.

“They all forget, I’m used to that in this business, people forget. Ungrateful little f*****s,” he said.

Celebrity Bites will be shown on RTE2 at 9pm on Monday.
