Kate Winslet SNUBS co-star Michael Fassbender for Oscar win

Kate Winslet has dashed her co-star Michael Fassbender’s hopes of winning an Oscar this year, by saying that it will be Leonardo DiCaprio’s year to win in the Best Actor category.

The 40-year-old actress, who starred in Steve Jobs alongside Kerry man Michael Fassbender, admits that while she thinks her co-star gave an “extraordinary” performance, she feels like everyone wants it more for Leonardo DiCaprio.

“I think you can sort of feel it, and I think that everyone wants it for him… It would be amazing,” she told the BBC.

Snubbed: Kate snubbed her co-star Michael’s chance at winning an Oscar

“It’s slightly difficult for me too, because Michael Fassbender has been nominated, and I was his right-hand woman for three months while we were making Steve Jobs and I saw how hard he worked. I think his performance is so extraordinary.

“But I think, yeah, you can sort of feel the temperature. It’s probably going to be Leo’s year,” she added.

Despite his hopes to win being dashed by his co-star, Michael has revealed that he feels “very privileged” to have been nominated in the first place.
