Jack Reynor opens up on Han Solo rumours: 'It would blow my f**king mind!'

Jack Reynor has opened up about the rumours that he’s set to be the next Han Solo in Star Wars, and admitted that it would blow his “f**king mind”.

The Sing Street star has been reportedly shortlisted to play the legendary character, made famous by Harrison Ford in the Star Wars series, in a a spin-off film that would focus on his early life.

“If I have an opportunity to play that character of course it will blow my f***ing mind! It’s Han Solo!” he said.

“Who doesn’t love that character? Who doesn’t love Harrison Ford? They’re massive boots to fill but if I’m granted the opportunity I’ll go for it full steam ahead and give it my best shot.”

The 24-year-old was shortlisted alongside Hollywood stars Ansel Elgort, Emory Cohen, Miles Teller, Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco, Logan Lerman and Blake Jenner.

The Star Wars spin-off movie is set to be directed by 21 Jump Street directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, and Jack revealed his respect and admiration for them.

“I think the two directors are brilliant, brilliant directors,” he told Independent.ie.

“The things they’ve done so far, the 21 Jump Street movies they’ve done that completely rebranded that thing, not to mention The Lego Movie they did that was fantastic as well.

“They’re guys who can take something that can be quite a conventional idea and turn it on its head and make it something new so I think for that film they’re really the right guys to be doing it,” he added.
