This is the first look at Love/Hate star Mary Murray as she swaps running a brothel for scaring kids.
The Dublin actress has stepped into the iconic role of the Wicked Stepmother in the panto production of Cinderella at The Helix Theatre.
Goss.ie was given the first look at Mary on the stage, and the Wicked Stepmother is a role she was clearly made to play.

And it makes sense – as Mary says she feels she was “destined” to play the role since childhood.
“Everyone wants to be a baddie. When I was a kid I wanted to play the Wicked Stepmother – not Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty,” she said.
Mary’s role as the Wicked Stepmother is the first time the RTE star has appeared in panto.

“I was delighted to be asked to perform as the Helix Panto has such a brilliant reputation with the critics and it is just so funny even the cast can’t stop laughing,” she said.
“I’m very scary. The kids are going to hate me but the whole family will love Cinderella – it’s a really funny, fast-paced panto, packed full of brilliant gags.”
The production also stars RTE presenter Megan Cassidy as Cinderella with Voice of Ireland’s musical director David Hay providing the music for the show.
The Helix panto is a very different role for Mary who is best known for playing prostitute Janet on Love/Hate.
