EXCLUSIVE! Maia Dunphy: 'I'm too old for RTÉ 2'

Maia Dunphy has revealed that she thinks that she may be ‘too old’ to do more shows for RTÉ 2.

The mum-of-one looked amazing hosting the Stellar Shine Awards in Soder + Ko, and exclusively spoke to Goss.ie, opening up on her plans for the future – and what she might leave behind.

“Now that I’m a mum, and I’m exhausted, I’m also probably too old for RTÉ 2, being realistic,” she said.

Truth About: Maia aired a documentary programme on childbirth recently on RTÉ 2 | TWITTER

Maia recently had two parts of her documentary series The Truth About aired on RTÉ 2 which were based on childbirth and Irish people living in London, however she’s unsure if that part of her life is behind her now.

“Maybe I’m done with that part of my life, but who knows, I’ve loads of other ideas for the strand.”

“The Truth About is a great idea, I think for a strand of telly, but I don’t know if I’m done with that at the moment for RTÉ 2, but we’ll see,” she told Goss.ie.

Although the Dalkey native could be leaving on-camera work behind her, she admits that she has a lot of ideas and is getting back into producing, which is where it all started for her.

“I’ve loads of ideas for the New Year, for England and I’m kind of pitching ideas as a producer, so I’m going back to what I used to do.

“Which is great because if anything comes off you can actually work, and not worry about how you look, so you can be exhausted and have bad hair and still get your work done,” she added.
