Eoghan McDermott has revealed the best way to deal with online trolls is to be nice to them.
The RTE presenter, who often gets hate from One Direction fans due to his friendship with Niall Horan, admitted people back down if you reply to them.
“I get some of it, I think everyone in the public eye does,” he said on his 2FM drive time show.

“I think you have to kill them with niceness, a lot of them back down and are like ‘oh sorry mate’. It is nasty,” he admitted.
Eoghan was discussing Caroline Flack, who said she was disgusted with all the comments about her weight and appearance on the X Factor last weekend.
