Daniel O'Donnell: 'I would love to record an album in Irish'

Daniel O’Donnell has revealed that he would love to record an album in Irish after his stint on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The Irish singer is currently starring in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with professional dance partner Kristina Rihanoff, and admittedly said he was finding himself ‘completely out of breath’ after the energetic routines.

Apart from Strictly, Daniel recently hosted his own country music show Opry on Luir on TG4 and said he enjoyed singing some of his hit tracks as Gaeilge so much that he would love to record a whole album in Irish.

“It was very enjoyable to sing them in Irish. Hopefully if the show continues and I get the opportunity, I would love to do a bit more.”

“I would love to do a whole album where you would have all the songs in Irish on it,” he told The Irish Daily Star.

Daniel is set to be taking on John Travolta’s role this weekend on the show’s movie themed special, when he will play Danny Zuko from Grease.
