Brian Ormond and Maria Walsh are hosting this year's TV3 Toy Show

Brian Ormond and Maria Walsh have been announced as this year’s hosts of The TV3 Toy Show.

The TV presenter and former Rose of Tralee will host TV3’s second Toy Show run after last year’s debut hosted by Xpose anchor Karen Koster and Westlife star Brian McFadden.

The pair will present a pre-recorded show from the Sony HD studio at TV3 in contrast to last year’s live event at the RDS.

The show drew in an impressive audience of 472,100 viewers in 2014, however it paled in comparison to the massive 1.5 million who watched The Late Late Toy Show, making it the most watched programme of the year.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for me,” Maria said.

“I’ve always dreamed of being a part of a toy show. When TV3 approached me I was over the moon and I just thought this was right up my alley and something I could bring a lot of energy to and have loads of fun in the process.”

“I love everything about Christmas and the magic it brings to children; I’m really looking forward to playing with all the kids and toys!”

The good news comes after Maria recently guest hosted an episode of The Seven O’Clock Show.

“I’ve worked on a lot of great shows but I’ve always wanted to host a Toy Show,” co-host Brian explained.

“I’m a bit of a big kid myself so when TV3 approached me I was absolutely thrilled.”

The gigs keep coming for Brian who was previously announced as the presenter for upcoming TV3 show Wishlist which is due to hit screens early next year.

The broadcaster will also air a programme about the casting process for the 90-minute show entitled The Toy Show auditions ahead of the show itself.

The TV3 Toy Show airs November 20 at 9pm.
