Bono's daughter Eve Hewson shortlisted for lead role in Robin Hood flick

Eve Hewson, daughter of U2 frontman Bono, is among the actresses fighting for the female lead in Robin Hood: Origins.

According to Deadline, the actress has been shortlisted among Dutch Supernova star Gaite Jansen, Australian actress Lucy Fry from Vampire Academy and Doctor Who’s Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

If Eve nabs the leading role, she will star alongside Kingsman: The Secret Service’s Taron Egerton in the “gritty revisionist take” re-telling of the Robin Hood tale.

Taron Egerton will play the role of Robin Hood, as he arrives back from the Crusades and gathers his group of Merry Men when he discovers the corruption in Sherwood Forest and Nottingham.

Production is to begin in early 2016, with Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) directing the flick with a script by Joby Harold.

Eve Hewson had her big break back in 2011, starring alongside Sean Penn in This Must Be The Place and she also featured in TV series The Knick opposite Clive Owen.

The 24-year-old is currently featured in a sexy spread in the October issue of GQ Magazine.
