EXCLUSIVE! Angela Scanlon's RTE series Close Encounters acquired by BBC

Things are going from strength to strength for Angela Scanlon as her RTE reality bites series Close Encounters has been snapped up by the BBC.

Premiering tonight on BBC3 featuring Irish WWE wrestler Sheamus, the Meath native admitted the channel is the “perfect fit” for the series which will air on the station over the coming weeks.

“I’ve been working with BBC Three for the past year and am thrilled that Close Encounters will now be available on their newly launched platform. It feels like a perfect fit!” she told Goss.ie.

“I’ve been working with David Blake Knox (producer) and Vinny Beirne (director) for a few years, originally on Oi Ginger! and then Full Frontal, they’re close friends and I love working with them.

“We’re all delighted that a series we are very proud of will be available to a wider audience,” she added.

Filled with hilarious moments, the London based starlet admitted she’s most looking forward to watching UK audience’s reaction to seeing comedian Jason Byrne in a nappy.

“Also I’m quite keen to see how people will react to the sight of Jason Byrne in a nappy. It’s something that can never be unseen,” she laughed.

This is the latest project that the fashionista has worked on with BBC3 having previously fronted the channel’s live coverage of T in the Park and BAFTA red carpet.

The exciting news comes after the flame-haired beauty is set to hit the UK airwaves with her new Virgin Radio show.
