Mario Rosenstock: 'David McSavage had a pop at me but there's no hard feelings'

Mario Rosenstock has insisted there’s “no hard feelings” towards David McSavage after he slammed his RTE show.

Comedian David, who appeared in court last week for refusing to pay his TV license, took a pop at the impersonator after RTE allegedly declined to recommission his show The Savage Eye – reportedly stating, “I’m willing to go to prison for that.”

However, Mario has taken the comic’s comments on the chin – admitting he’s a “massive fan” of David.

“I’m not just fobbing him off, but I’m a massive fan of David and he should make more Savage Eye shows,” he told the Herald.

No hard feelings: Mario took David McSavage’s comments on the chin

“I think he had a pop at me, and that’s fine, there’s no hard feelings.”

The comic said his last RTE series could have done better – insisting that the viewership figures “weren’t stellar”.

“My problem with the last one was that it was a little too long. The sketches become too fat and it’s very hard for people to watch an hour-long comedy show like that. It’s exhausting for an audience,” he explained.

However, Mario admitted he would consider making another show – but only if it was 30 minutes long.
