Jonathan Rhys Meyers is set to star opposite Antonio Benderas in a new psychological thriller.
The Irish actor has signed on to star in Black Butterfly, a remake of the French film Papillon Noir.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Antonio will portray Paul, a down-on-his-luck screenwriter who picks up a drifter (Jonathan) and offers him a place to stay.

However, the drifter soon proves to not be what he seems as he takes Paul hostage and forces him to write with their strange relationship bringing secrets to light.
Shooting on the movie is set to begin in May in Italy.
It comes after it was revealed that Jonathan has joined the cast of hit TV series Vikings.
