5 Seconds of Summer: 'We love performing in Ireland'

5 Seconds of Summer are headed back to Dublin’s 3Arena next year and drummer Ashton has admitted Ireland is close to their heart.

The Australian musician, who’s band 5SOS will take to the Irish venue for two dates in April, revealed the four-piece look forward to performing in Ireland.

“It’s really flattering to us, we always love coming to Ireland, we think it’s particularly cool to us,” he said.

Speaking to Jenny Greene on 2fm’s the Nicky Byrne Show, the Aussie music man revealed Ireland’s relationship with music makes the Irish a great crowd.

“I think you guys have a really great music culture, very passionate about music and you also look rock music, love guitars and that means a lot to us,” he admitted.

“That’s why we always come back and the crowds get bigger every time we come.”

Opening up about their impending Dublin dates in 2016, the 21-year-old said Irish fans will experience something they’ve never seen before.

“We’re coming back with a bigger and better show, we always push ourselves to put on the best live show we possible can and your going to see stuff we haven’t done yet,” he said.

“Fans are going to see things, they haven’t see before. It’s going to be a great time.”
