There’s going to be a masquerade ball at Body & Soul this year

The Body & Soul 2017 festival taking place on June 23rd to 25th will feature a masquerade ball. With Ireland’s festival season coming up, this is definitely good news for some of us.

The festival will take place in Ballinlough Castle in Westmeath and the ball will be hosted by champagne house Veuve Clicquot. The festival appears to be taking things in new directions, as Body & Soul is usually associated with a more relaxed vibe.

However on the Saturday of the festival, guests are invited to “reawaken their Marie Antoinette or a bygone Charleston era find their favourite costume”.

Tickets for the festival went on sale in late November and sold pretty quickly given the popularity of the event.

Veuve Clicquot will have their own champagne bar at the event and will feature entertainment on the night at the ball.

These include British electro swing duo The Correspondents, referred to as the Kings of Hip Hop Swing. Also there will be guest speakers including sommelier Julie Dupouy, who will be speaking on food pairing and fine champagne.

Veuve Clicquot will be bringing their ‘spectacle of sparkles’ which has featured at their previous events.

In order to gain entrance to the masquerade ball, guests are required to dress for the occasion.

The Body & Soul festival is now in its 13th year, as it was part of Electric Picnic since 2004 before it became an independent event.
