5 times Jay Z apologizes to Beyonce for cheating in his new album

Jay Z has finally dropped his new album 4:44, and in it he finally responds to claims he cheated on his wife Beyonce.

The singer led the world to believe Jay cheated on her with “Becky with the good hair” after releasing her album Lemonade, where she spoke all about how she dealt with his infidelity.

Now in 4:44 Jay seems to be admitting to cheating, here’s 5 times he apologizes to Beyonce on the album.

1. When he says “let me alone, Becky”

In a direct response to Beyonce’s song Sorry in Lemonade, Jay talks about wanting to take care of his family in track Family Feud.

“Yeah, I’ll f— up a good thing if you let me / Let me alone, Becky / A man that don’t take care of his family can’t be rich / I’ll watch ‘Godfather,’ I missed that whole shit.”

The rapper also references a monologue from classic movie The Godfather, when Marlon Brando’s character says that “a man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real man.”

2. When he says he “risked that for Blue”

In his title track 4:44 Jay questions whether a quickie affair was worth losing his soul mate.

The rapper also references their daughter Blue Ivy.

“‘You did what with who?’ / What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate? / ‘You risked that for Blue?'”

3. When he says Beyonce’s miscarriage was his fault

In a devastating line, Jay references Beyonce’s miscarriage in 2011.

The singer had revealed she lost a child in the early stages of pregnancy during her documentary for HBO back in 2013.

“I flew back to New York to get my check up, and no heartbeat,” she said. “Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat,” she said at the time.

In the title track 4:44, Jay says his absence from the marriage caused the painful incident.

“I still mourn this death, I apologize for all the stillborns / ‘Cause I wasn’t present, your body wouldn’t accept it.”

4. When he says it took Blue Ivy’s birth to see what he had done

His title track 4:44 is definitely the biggest apology to his wife, in this track again he talks about womanizing and admits it took Blue Ivy’s birth to see what he had done to his wife.

“I apologize, often womanize / Took for my child to be born to see through a woman’s eyes.”

5. When he references Solange hitting him in THAT elevator incident

Everybody knew Jay and Bey were in trouble, after security footage showed Beyonce’s sister Solange hitting and kicking him in an elevator back in 2014.

In his song Kill Jay Z, the rapper admits he could have prevented the whole incident and compares himself to Eric Benét, who was previously married to Halle Berry, but was dumped when she caught him cheating.

“You egged Solange on knowin’ all along / All you had to say, you was wrong / You almost went Eric Benét / Let the baddest girl in the world get away.”
