Hundreds of XXXTentacion fans turned out for his memorial on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on Tuesday – but things took a turn for the worst when the crowd got too rowdy.
XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was shot dead on Monday in Deerfield Beach, Florida – leaving his fans devastated.
Turning out to pay tribute to the 20-year-old rapper, as many as 500 people gathered and blocked a portion of Melrose Avenue, which caused the LAPD to show up in riot gear.

Around 9.30pm, the crowd got even rowdier, and people started jumping off rooftops as the crowd below caught them.
Officers dressed in riot gear then attempted to disperse the crowd by firing pepper balls and rubber bullets.

The bulk of the crowd eventually dispersed by 10.30 p.m, and no injuries or arrests were reported.
Before his death, XXXTentacion hit headlines for all the wrong reasons as he was previously arrested on suspicion of beating a pregnant woman.
At the time of his death, the rapper was awaiting trial for charges of false imprisonment, witness tampering and battery of that woman.
