WATCH: Robbie Williams responds to reports that he’s set to join the X Factor judging panel

The singer is in talks with X Factor bosses

Robbie Williams has responded to reports that he’s set to join the X Factor judging panel.

Last week, it was reported that the 44-year-old is in talks to replace Louis Walsh, after the Irish man confirmed his departure from the show.

Following that, sources said Robbie’s actress wife Ayda could be set to join him, replacing Nicole Scherzinger.

Responding to the rumours on ITV’s This Morning, Robbie spilled, “I’ve read these reports too and I would understand… that people would think I’m doing The X Factor and so is my wife.”

“As it happens people say it every year and I always say ‘no comment’. There’s a lot of me that would love to do it, there’s a lot of talking but nothing has been signed.”

“Me and Simon and Lauren and my kids and little Eric hang out a lot and we talk about a lot of things. Nothing is signed, but watch this space,” he teased.

Although he’d love to be a judge, he worries that his unpredictable behaviour could get him into trouble if he accepts a role on the show.

He said, “If there is an X Factor in my future – whether it’ll be this year, or next year or never – I am scared for my own safety and health.

“Not because of the people out there, or the public, or Twitter, or Instagram – but my wife.”

“She’s sort of a grade A+ student from Beverly Hills, incredibly square and is like, ‘Why would you do that?'”
