Taylor Swift ‘blocked’ from performing her own music amid master recording battle

Taylor Swift has revealed that her performance at the AMAs, as well as other professional projects, are at risk.

In a lengthy statement posted to Twitter today, Taylor claimed that she is unable to perform any of her music which was recorded when she was signed to Big Machine Label Group.

Scooter Braun now controls the master recordings of her hit songs up to 2018 after buying the record label from Scott Borchetta for $300million in June.

The star is set to be honoured with The Artist of the Decade accolade at the awards, and claims the men are barring her from using her own music for her performances.

“Right now my performance at the AMAs, the Netflix documentary and any other recorded events I am planning to play until November 2020 are a question mark,” she wrote.

The star revealed that Netflix has been filming her life for the past few years with the intention to make a bumper documentary.

Braun and Borchetta are allegedly calling the AMAs TV performance an “illegal re-recording” or her songes – in breach of their copyright.

Taylor will be able to re-record her old hits in 2020, but not before then.

Taylor wrote: “I just want to be able to perform MY OWN music. That’s it.”

“I’ve tried to work out this out privately through my team but have not been able to resolve anything.”

“The message being sent to me is very clear,” she said.

“Basically, be a good little girl and shut up. Or you’ll be punished. This is WRONG. Neither of these men had a hand in the writing of these songs. They did nothing to create the relationship I have with my fans.”

Taylor only owns the rights to her most recent album, Lover.
