RTÉ hosted a retirement party for Mary Kennedy last night, ahead of her stint on Dancing With The Stars.

Sadly, Mary was forced to retire from the broadcaster recently, after she turned 65 back in September.

A host of staff turned out for the farewell bash, including Mary’s former Open House co-host Marty Whelan.

Taking to Twitter, Marty shared a sweet photo of him and Mary at the party, alongside the caption: “My friend, the fabulous Mary Kennedy last evening at her retirement do.”

“She’ll be dancing with the stars soon ⁦@KennedyMary @DWTSIRL @rte,” he added.

Mary’s retirement party was hosted in RTÉ’s Studio One, and other stars spotted at the bash included Marty Morrissey, Neven Maguire, and Noel Cunningham.

Mary first joined RTÉ back in 1978, and is best known for presenting Nationwide alongside Anne Cassin for the last 15 years.

Following her retirement, Mary’s next big venture is taking part in Dancing With The Stars.

The series premieres on January 5th, 2020, on RTÉ One.
