R. Kelly has been dropped from his record label – amid a media storm surrounding a damning documentary about his sex life.
The singer has been accused, by multiple women, of sexual misconduct, sex with teenagers and “controlling” behaviour over a number of women living in his house.
In the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly, multiple women accused the singer of emotional abuse, sexual abuse and keeping a number of women in his house as “sex slaves”, where some said they were forced to go without food for days.
Now RCA Records have dropped the I Believe I Can Fly singer after the documentary series caused protests around the world to “Mute R. Kelly”.
Back in 2002 R. Kelly was charged with 21 counts of child pornography and was accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl, however he was acquitted after the woman on the tape did not testify against him.
Despite the serious court case, the singer continued to work with stars like Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Chance the Rapper and more.
