PICS: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s romantic private lunch in Dublin

Between visiting the Book of Kells in Trinity College and talking to entrepreneurs at CHQ the Duke and Duchess of Sussex popped into Delahunt’s for a private lunch during their stay in Dublin.

The pair enjoyed an intimate meal in the Camden Street eatery, as armed Gardai manned rooftops around the premises to ensure their safety.

Staff at the restaurant were delighted to be welcoming the royal couple and shared snaps of their visit on social media.

They posted a photo of the table set for two, all ready for the arrival of the newlyweds, captioning the snap, “Our best table for a special occasion! Ready for a Royal service.”

The young royals posed with staff at the Michelin star spot as the waiters thanked them for their custom.

They shared their excitement on Instagram posting, “What an honor to serve The Duke and Duchess of Sussex today!”

Staff at the prestigious eatery told their social media following that the Duke of Sussex had heard great things about them, writing on Instagram, “Prince Harry said to the kitchen when he arrived he heard that we serve the best food in Ireland!”

“The chef agreed, but also said we’re a bit biased ????,” they revealed but didn’t mention whether or not the couple tipped generously.

The staff of the Dublin restaurant, which will undoubtedly see a surge in bookings following the royal luncheon, were still in awe of the couple as they left, sharing a video of them parting from the premises.

“Absolute honor to serve The Duke and Duchess of Sussex today,” they reiterated upon the couple’s departure.

After the couple enjoyed their meal, at the wooden table adorned with flowers, Delahunt’s wrote, “An exciting day for Camden street!”
