Meghan Markle’s ‘bodyguard quits’ after less than a year

Meghan Markle’s bodyguard is reportedly set to quit, after working with the Duchess for less than a year.

The former actress already lost her personal assistant, Melissa Touabti, and her private secretary, Samantha Cohen, has been rumoured to be leaving the royals for several months.

A source claimed that there was no clashing between the bodyguard and Meghan, but that the 37-year-old caused difficulties to her protection team, as she wants to be seen as “one of the people.”

“Unlike someone who has grown up in the royal family and has been used to having close protection from an early age, it can be quite constraining,” the source said.

“Even though she was a famous actress, she could still do what she wanted in the way of getting around freely. But in her current role she can’t go anywhere without her protection team and that’s a massive constraining force on an individual like her.”

The Duchess’ bodyguard is allegedly leaving the Metropolitan Police and was described as “brilliant” by her co-workers.

The woman replaced Prince Harry’s long-term bodyguard, Sergeant Bill Renshaw, after thirty one years in 2018.
