Maura Higgins was hailed a modern feminist icon during her time in the Love Island villa.
She earned the accolade thanks to her frank discussions of sexuality, and since exiting the show, the Longford model is continuing the conversation surrounding modern sexual culture.
Maura revealed that she would never pretend to enjoy a sexual encounter or fake an orgasm.
“Oh my god, I would never do that,” she said, according to The Irish Mirror.
“Like never. Why would I bother? Women should not (put men) before their own (pleasure).
“If the guy is getting pleasure, then he should pleasure the woman exactly the same way in return.”
Maura continued, explaining that there is still a double standard when it comes to the implications of women enjoying sex.
“I don’t know why women are scared to ask… Sex is a natural thing.”
“Be open if you are not happy with how it is going, but don’t fake a f**king orgasm. He is not going to fake it for you. No guy is going to fake it, are they?”
