Liam Payne has reportedly sought legal advice, amid reports that he’s set to split from Cheryl.
Over the weekend, The Sun on Sunday reported that the couple are ready to end their relationship – and now the former 1D star is making moves to protect his estimated £54 million fortune.
Liam and Cheryl, who is said to be worth £20million, are not married but share a £5.1million mansion in Surrey. The couple also share 11-month-old son Bear.
A source close to the couple told The Sun, “Liam has sought some legal advice but he still wants to make it work.”
“It’s just sensible to be prepared for all options. With a young son and a number of assets between them there is more to breaking up than just parting ways. He hopes it doesn’t come to it but he’s just being careful.”
Over the weekend, Liam was spotted watching the boxing between George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr in Manchester.
The singer posed for a picture with Olympic champion Denise Lewis backstage at the Arena, and an onlooker said, “He looked pretty glum. His mind understandably looked elsewhere.”
