Kim Kardashian ‘shocked’ to win CFDA Fashion Award as she’s ‘naked most of the time’

The reality star was honoured in NYC last night

Kim Kardashian was honoured with the inaugural Influencer Award at this year’s CFDA Awards on Monday night.

The reality star has successfully built an empire since her days organising celebrity closets – thanks to her reality show, her KKW beauty line, her Kim Kardashian Hollywood app, and so much more.

The mother-of-three was honoured with the award in NYC last night, and in her acceptance speech, she joked about her love for posting controversial nude selfies on Instagram.

“I am kind of shocked that I am winning a fashion award when I am naked most of the time,” she joked, before adding, “But this is seriously such an honour, so thank you to the CFDA for this award.”

The KUWTK was surprised at the ceremony with a video message from husband Kanye West and their two-year-old son Saint.

In the video, Kanye said, “We’re doing this video for the most influential person on the planet. Want to say hi?”

The 37-year-old went on to tell the audience how much the award means to her, because so many people doubted her in the past.

“It was maybe seven years ago when I had a publicist and she asked, what where my goals, what were my dreams, and I said I just want to be on the cover of a fashion magazine and she said to me, ‘Let’s get some realistic goals, because that will never happen.’

She continued, “And so of course I sent her my Vogue cover when it came out — an autographed copy. So it’s really a trip to me that I’m here getting an award for fashion, when it’s something I’ve always loved.”

On the night, Kim wowed at the Brooklyn Museum wearing a white crop top and a matching spandex maxi skirt, which was custom designed by Rick Owens.
