Kate Middleton and Prince William welcome third child

Kate Middleton has given birth to a baby boy.

The Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William arrived at the private Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington earlier today.

Kensington Palace have since confirmed that Kate and William have welcomed a healthy baby boy.

In a statement, they wrote, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.”

“The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

The Duchess gave birth at the same exclusive maternity unit where she welcomed her older children George, four, and Charlotte, two.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married in April 2011.

The news comes just hours after it was reported that Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton is pregnant with her first child.
