Declan Donnelly has revealed the real reason he wanted Holly Willoughby to be Ant McPartlin’s replacement on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The father-of-one is presenting the reality show without his regular co-host for the first time in history, as Ant has been replaced by Holly for the upcoming series.

After the 37-year-old was revealed as the new presenter, it was reported that Dec thought Holly was the perfect choice for the show.

“As always I’m incredibly excited to be heading to Oz for I’m A Celebrity,” Dec told The Sun.

“It is obviously tinged with sadness that Ant won’t be coming this year, I’m going to really miss him, but it’s only for one series and he’ll be back stronger next year.”

The presenter also revealed the real reason he wanted Holly to co-host the show: “I didn’t want to host this series with another guy so Holly was top of my list.”
