Stars have congratulated Shane Lowry in their droves – after winning his first-ever major.
Shane, 32, beat the odds as he won the 148th Open at Royal Portrush.
Taking to Twitter UFC champion Conor McGregor paid tribute to the sports star: “Big congratulations to Irishman @ShaneLowryGolf on winning his first major at The Open today,” he wrote.

Meanwhile actor Chris O’Dowd also took to the social media network to celebrate the news.
