Amber Gill says she is ‘disappointed’ in Greg O’Shea but that he can ‘keep his 25k’

Amber Gill has said that Greg O’Shea can “keep his 25k” prize from Love Island – weeks after he dumped her over text.

The Love Island winners split earlier this month, after winning the hugely popular ITV reality series.

Each season the winning couple bag 50k in cash, with Greg and Amber splitting it this year.

Fans had called for the rugby player, 24, to give back his half of the prize money, after dumping Amber, 22.

When asked if she agreed with the fans, Amber said: “Nah, he can keep it. I needed someone else to win and we won it together. I don’t hate him, I’m just disappointed in him, really.

“All I’d wanted was a little bit of effort on his part to come to London or Newcastle to see me, and we’d had a discussion about that a couple of days before. And then he texted me on the day I was supposed to fly to Ireland,” she told the UK Sun.

“I think in the future I’ll look back on this as a blessing in disguise. I can focus on work and spending time with my family and friends,” she added.

The brunette added that she doesn’t think anyone really “needs” a relationship and that people should only find someone who can add to their lives.

“You don’t need to be in a relationship at all. I think if you’re going to be with somebody they have got to enhance your life, otherwise, there’s no point. Being by yourself is amazing – it is powerful.”

And we don’t need to feel sorry for Amber, although she admitted Greg broke up with her over the phone, she just landed a million pound deal with fashion brand Mispap.
